Anzeige/AD: Those of you who have been following me for a while now, will have noticed that I’m a true #VuittonGirl and that I totally love every single Louis Vuitton collection. I like to discover the new collections from season to season and I can count myself very lucky to be regularly working with Louis Vuitton. In today’s blogpost I will tell you everything about the new Cruise Collection 2019 and show you my favorite looks.
Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Ghesquière
Having renewed his contract with Louis Vuitton in Spring, Nicolas Ghesquière presented his fifth collection for the house of Louis Vuitton: The Cruise Collection 2019. According to him, fashion can be seen as an artwork without a frame. He always choses remarkable settings for his shows to underline the connection and dependence on fashion and art. He lets fashion take place in the midst of art. As expected Nicolas Ghesquière opted for an exceptional art destination for the presentation of the new Cruise Collection. A private art foundation, with gardens, that are filled with treasures and famous art works. There is nothing more beautiful than to present a collection between the stunning sculptures of Miró. The colors of the collection were perfectly integrated into the garden and created a harmonious picture.
The whole collection is a very experimental, yet wearable collection. Big voluminous shoulders, vintage-inspirered silhouettes and colors. The show was all about eccentricity and the way each individual can have his own individual style. Ghesquière remixed signature creations from recent seasons with unexpected new looks. Oversize dresses and statement sleeves meet thigh-high leather boots. The chunky soles of the Archlight sneaker got a modern update. Sculptural cuts, some flowing, some edgy: A sophisticated collection with an eclectic tailoring and unexpected embroidery.
Must have: The Archlight boot
Leggings meet sneaker. My absolut favorite of the whole Cruise Collection are these breathtaking LV flat thigh boots. These over-the-knee sneaker are an elaboration of the best-selling Archlight sneaker of the previous Spring Collection. They are such a special standout piece. The boots are crafted from super soft black lambskin. The wave-shaped sole comes along in a metallic gold. It adds some extra hight to your look and for sure catches everyone’s attention.
My looks in details
I decided to show you two of my favorite Louis Vuitton runway looks. As I mentioned above, the main actor in my first look are these futuristic over-the-knee sneakers. I’m totally obsessed with their style and fit. The boots are already a perfect eye-catcher and standout piece. You don’t need to add much more, to create an interesting look. I decided to go for this beautiful white dress. It has a nice and flowing silhouette with a historical touch. I really like the subtle ruffles and oversized statement sleeves. Big sleeves will definitely be a key feature this season. The sportswear inspired belt adds a laid back and playful attitude to the rather chic look. The delicate white of the dress creates a nice contrast to the rough black leather.
My second look is another key outfit from the Cruise Collection. I’m wearing a fine pleated long sleeve in a soft blue and a matching wrap skirt. Throughout the collection Ghesquière presented his creative reimagining of traditional pleating. It is a key motif of the collection. Ghesquière uses woven jacquard to evoke the look of fine deep pleats. Soft satin fabrics add some extra texture and dimension. I really love the skirt and top combination.
Talking about the huge 80s comeback again. How cool is this vintage-inspired leather bomber jacket? It is made of shiny soft lambskin, has a round collar and an athletic appearance. It has a laser-cut zipper and the most beautiful Monogram-patterned lining. The sleeves are decorated with metallic silver leather tabs. I’m obsessed! I completed my look with another new sock-inspired edition of the LV Archlight sneakers. The black stretch textile isn’t only super comfortable, but also flatters your leg.
